Senior Citizen's Outing

May 24 | 08:00 AM

Details:

We invite you to join us on Wednesday, May 24 for a trip to Paris, KY to visit Cane Ridge Meeting House, a historic church building built in 1791. It is one of the oldest church buildings in Kentucky and the largest one room log structure. The church was the site of a large frontier Christian revival in 1801 and the birthplace of the Stone-Campbell movement seeking unity among Christians calling themselves simply “Christians.” A curator will give us a presentation in the meeting house and then Greg Edens will preach a message and we will sing a few hymns. Afterward we will take time to visit the cemetery and museum.

We will then take our chartered bus to stop for lunch on the way home. We will be departing from church at 8:00am and returning around 4:30pm. The trip is a two-hour ride each way. Cost is $25/person for transportation. You will have the additional cost of your lunch and a small donation for the meeting house. You can register online at brightcc.org or at the table in the foyer. This trip is limited to 50 people, so you will need to pay when registering to hold your spot. Looking forward to a great day together!
